The first of their kind in the world
Tarpaulins and covers for boats and other outdoor equipment where air permeability and water resistance both matter, made with a textile membrane whose pores are no larger than 50 nm.
Made to order, quantity by agreement, 100% in advance.
TextileCommercial focus
NEST-TEX supplies its technology as a three-layer laminated sandwich: an outer fabric of your choice, the NEST-TEX nanofibre membrane with the porosity you need, and a protective inner mesh or fabric.
Weather-protective layers for active use.
One garment for changing conditions and uses.
Garments for wet, windy days on the water.
Layers for alpine weather and high exertion.
Hiking, cycling and time outdoors.
Urban outerwear with a technical build.
Equipment for harsh, changing environments.
Workwear for demanding professional settings.
In developmentSpecialised protective textile systems, including for hazardous or chemical environments, are research and development possibilities. No certified chemical or military protection is claimed.
R&DFor businesses: choose the three layers and the quantity. We laminate the material to your specification and send an offer.
Indicative, based on the starting price of €18 per m², excluding VAT. Your offer states the final price, the weight, the delivery cost and an estimated delivery date.
For individual customers: not a jacket from stock. Each one is produced for its owner.
A unique NEST-TEX jacket. Made to your measurements, made for you.
Try the four sports jackets and choose the model, colour and pocket layout. Extra pockets can be added on request.
We take the measurements ourselves, on any working day by arrangement, at Cesta Dolomitskega odreda 10c in Ljubljana or at an address we agree on. After measuring, you receive a pro-forma invoice.
Your jacket is produced to your measurements. We confirm the estimated delivery date with your pro-forma invoice.
€390–990Prices include VAT and depend on model, materials and size. Your exact price is in the pro-forma invoice.
Sports jackets designed around what the NEST-TEX material does best.
Made to measure Set pocket layout, extra pockets on request €390–990 incl. VAT
For sailing and long hours on the water.
For mountains and alpine weather.
For hiking, cycling and weekends outdoors.
For the city, commuting and travel.
Custom textile structures where protection is needed while breathability and water-vapour transport matter.
Indicative price from €50 per m² excluding VAT, made to order with 100% payment in advance. Your quotation states the exact price, for consumers including VAT, and an estimated delivery date.
Other ideas, such as tents, sports-equipment covers or protective structures? Describe your application and we tell you what is possible.
Send your dimensions and describe the application. We prepare a quotation with an estimated delivery date.
Fast delivery up to 7 m. For every other made-to-order product, we confirm an estimated delivery date with your inquiry. We ship worldwide; delivery is paid by the customer.
NEST-TEX technology platform
One core material, adapted for many industries. Electrospinning turns a polymer solution into continuous nanofibres; NEST-TEX controls the process to build a fine, porous fibre network instead of a solid film.
Chosen for your product. We propose suitable fabrics, or you supply your own; it must not stretch in either the x or the y direction.
Electrospun nanofibres about 45 nm in diameter form pores smaller than 50 nm. The standard membrane has a water column of 10 500 mm; porosity and water column can be set to your specification.
A protective mesh or fabric on the inside that shields the membrane in use.
Laboratory values for the NEST-TEX nanofibre membrane, measured at the Institute for Sustainable Innovative Technologies (iSIT), Slovenia. Air permeability: 1.48 mm/s at 200 Pa.
Beyond textileResearch & development
Battery separators, air filtration and wound care show the broader potential of the NEST-TEX platform. They are development areas open to testing, research partnerships and future commercialisation, not products for sale today.
02 / Battery technologyR&D
Inside a lithium-ion cell, the separator keeps anode and cathode apart while letting ions pass. The characteristics and structure of the NEST-TEX material create opportunities for further research, testing and development in this role.
This is a technology development area. NEST-TEX invites battery manufacturers, research institutions, engineering companies and development partners to discuss cooperation.
03 / Air filtrationR&D
NEST-TEX sees two areas for developing filtration materials from its membrane technology: professional and controlled environments such as hospitals and operating rooms, and everyday indoor air for people living in large cities with significant air pollution and particulate contamination.
These are application and development opportunities; filtration performance and certifications for specific products are to be established with partners.
04 / Wound careFuture R&D
ArtSkin (from Artificial Skin) is the NEST-TEX technology line for wound and burn care, based on chitosan nanofibre fabrics. Its porous, breathable structure creates an opportunity to investigate coverings where protection and controlled exchange with the environment may be desirable.
Wound care is a future research and development application of the NEST-TEX platform. NEST-TEX does not offer medical products and makes no therapeutic claims.
About NEST-TEX
A European material-technology company, beginning commercialisation through the textile industry.
NEST-TEX d.o.o. is a material-technology company from Ljubljana, Slovenia, co-founded by director Peter Emri and Acad. Prof. Dr. Igor Emri, the inventor of the technology. We develop electrospun, nano-structured membranes and bring them to market first through textiles.
Our approach is rooted in material science: understanding how polymer structure, fibre formation and mechanics interact, and using that knowledge to control the fibre network a membrane is made of.
We work as a lean core team with a network of research laboratories, experts and industrial partners. Our ambition is to build an interdisciplinary platform around one membrane technology: textiles today, and battery, filtration and wound-care applications through research and partnerships.
Every application starts from the structure of the fibre network.
A single core technology, adapted for each application.
What we sell today is kept separate from what the technology may enable.
Laboratories, manufacturers and developers across all four fields.
An interdisciplinary team from business, materials science, medicine, engineering and textile design.
Partnerships & R&D
NEST-TEX invites companies, research organisations, manufacturers and development partners from all four sectors to talk about testing, development, integration and collaboration.
For textile manufacturers, brands and designers: material testing, product development and B2B cooperation.
For battery manufacturers, research institutions and engineering companies: testing and joint development.
For filtration and air-purification companies and controlled-environment specialists.
For medical-device developers, researchers and industry partners: development collaborations.
